Marriage is a holy path that binds couples and spouses together. The happy knot however, when failed to be protected, eventually drives pair to end their marriages with separation or divorce. This study was aimed at identifying the trend and divorce factors among couples in Selangor from 2011 to 2015. Data are acquired through the method of documentation and interview. The divorce trend from 2011 – 2015 attained are classified according to gender, marriage period and couple’s age while the reason and factors data presented based on complaints at the Selangor Islamic Religious Department. Data is then analyzed through quantitative study and presented in the form of frequency and percentage. The results showed that there was an increase in divorce rates from 2011-2015 and the cases varies according to gender, period of marriage and also the couple’s age. Responsibility negligence among the couple is the highest factor contribute to the divorce in Selangor, followed by miss-communication, personal ethics, third party interference, low religion education, economy, sexual, career, health. The most least is the cultural differences. Various approaches and cooperation of all parties are needed to mobilize and to curb this divorce issue from rising further.
