The COVID-19 is a global pandemic caused by a novel coronavirus known as Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The pandemic has been affecting the entire human livelihood including health, social, economy, education, and others. During this tough time, the Ministry of Education Malaysia (MOE) in collaboration with other parties have implemented online teaching and learning platform as a prevention step from spreading the virus. Therefore, this article aims to make a comparison study of stress symptoms faced by huffaz (Quran memorizer) among Bachelor of Qiraat students. Common stress symptoms include physical, psychological, mental, and behavioral disorders. There are good and bad effects of stress on individual’s life. Positive effects of stress can enhance students’ development and motivate them to succeed while negative implication will lead them to unhealthy activities that can affect their learning quality. This study consisted of USIM and KUIS students as respondents and data collection are based on questionnaire instrument. A descriptive analysis method applied are frequency and percentage in identifying students’ background and stress symptoms experienced by students. The finding of this study shows that the symptoms of stress between USIM and KUIS are at different levels. This indicates that the level of stress is influenced by environmental conditions, students’ circumstances, and their self-perception. As a conclusion, stress plays a crucial role in the development of human capital along with self-motivation among students even during the difficult times by managing their stress based on Islamic guidelines.
